FIG Mentoring Pilot Programme 2022
The Pilot Mentoring Programme aims for the Africa Regional
Network (ARN) and Young Surveyors Network (YSN) to run a
mentoring program across Africa, using the Surveying & Spatial
Sciences Institute, Australia, (SSSI) Mentoring Program IP as a
model, to understand the elements required to make mentoring
programs a success within this context. The end goal is to be
able to scale up the mentoring programme for more participants
within Africa and to provide a model of delivery which may
be replicated in other regions of the world.

FIG Commission Publication Author Support Grant
The FIG Foundation has an author support grant available,
and provides 28,000 Euros.
The rationale behind the grant is that FIG has a number of
publications on policy and practice which relate to developing
countries, but they are not written by people living and working
in those countries.
Although the application is supposed to be driven by the
commission chairs, it is up to motivated individuals who would
like to write a FIG publication to contact their respective a
commission chair and develop a proposal Preferably NOW (February
2019) in order to be included in the commission working.
If this is of interest to you, do not hesitate to contact the
FIG Office or a Council member asap.
Do note that the Foundation has produced a couple of videos
on writing grant proposals to the FIG Foundation. They are on
the Foundation’s web page. Potential author’s and commission
chairs should view these before submitting a proposal. For more
information about the grant and to watch the video, please visit
