The first and most likely most awaited election was the election of the new FIG President. The vote was controlled by the two tellers: Dr. Dalal Alnaggar and Ms. Christiane Salbach from Germany.

The results was clear already after the first vote: Prof. Stig Enemark was elected as the new President. Here he receives congratulations from President Magel and the two competitors Ken Allred and TN Wong.

Dr. Dalal Alnaggar from Egypt was elected as new Vice President of FIG (2007-2010). She is the second female Vice President in FIG history. The second new Vice President is Matt Higgins from Australia.

The next FIG Events will be the Working Week 2007 in May in Hong Kong and the 6th FIG Regional Conference 11-15 November 2007 in San Jose, Costa Rica. The agreement on the regional conference was made during the congress in Munich.
