VISA REQUIREMENTS

Most visitors to Ghana must obtain a visa from one of the Ghanaian diplomatic missions to enter the country. It is the participant’s responsibility to investigate the visa requirements for Ghana and apply for a visa, if necessary.
Delegates are advised to apply for their visa, if required, as soon as possible, to ensure adequate processing time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All travellers are required to present a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate at the port of entry in Ghana. It is recommended to receive the vaccination at least 10 days before arrival.

Find out what you need to enter Ghana based on your nationality with your local Ghanaian embassy or consulate or the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

From the website of the diplomatic mission, you will find a link to fill in the online visa form.

THE DOCUMENTS YOU NEED FOR A TOURIST VISA

Please note that the below are general recommendations. Please be aware of potential national/regional differences and follow your local instructions.

Passport
The applicant's actual passport. The passport must:
Have at least two blank visa pages
Be valid for six months beyond exit date

Photograph
You must provide a photograph. The photo should have taken not more than three months prior to the date of submission.

Proof of Travel Arrangements
This must be provided as a copy of the flight confirmation showing onward/return travel.

Yellow Fever Certificate
A copy an international certificate of vaccination for Yellow Fever.

Copy of Passport Identification Page
A clear colour photocopy of the information page(s) from the applicant's passport

Proof of Payment of Visa Fees
 Please note that all payments will only be made upon completion of the visa application process.

THE DOCUMENTS YOU WILL NEED FOR A BUSINESS VISA

Business visas are granted to business people traveling to Ghana for business-related purposes. For example, to attend a conference.

Please note that the below are general recommendations. Please be aware of potential national/regional differences and follow your local instructions.

Passport
The applicant's actual passport. The passport must:
Have at least two blank visa pages
Be valid for six months beyond exit date

Photograph
You must provide a photograph. The photo should have taken not more than three months prior to the date of submission.

Letter of Guarantee
Business visa:
You must provide a Guarantee Letter from your employer. Be certain your letter meets the specific requirements of the Embassy. Visit for an example

Note that most embassies require the Guarantee Letter to be dated within one month of application submission.

Letter of Invitation
The FIG office will be happy to issue a Visa Support Letter to assist with your visa application.

Please note that Visa Support Letters will only be issued upon confirmation of registration and after full payment for registration fees has been received. Visa Support Letters are only issued via email in PDF format and will be sent within approximately one week after your information is received by the FIG Office

For those who require a visa, please note that the Organizing Committee has no control over the visa application process, or the decision of the visa adjudicator in the embassy or consulate. The conference cannot be responsible for actual visa issuances. The process length varies from individuals, you are strongly advised to start your application as soon as you can.

Should your application be denied,  we  cannot change the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nor will we engage in discussion or correspondence with the MOFA or the Embassy on behalf of the applicant.
