INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF SURVEYORS

The International Federation of Surveyors is an international, non-government organisation whose purpose is to support international collaboration for the progress of surveying in all fields and applications.

FIG is the premier international organization representing the interests of surveyors worldwide. It is a federation of the national member associations and covers the whole range of professional fields within the global surveying community. It provides an international forum for discussion and development aiming to promote professional practice and standards.

FIG was founded in 1878 in Paris and was known as the Fédération Internationale des Géomètres. This has become anglicized to the International Federation of Surveyors. It is a UN-recognized non-government organization (NGO), representing more than 120 countries throughout the world, and its aim is to ensure that the disciplines of surveying and all who practise them meet the needs of the markets and communities that they serve.

ASSOCIATION OF AUTHORISED LAND SURVEYORS MALAYSIA, PEJUTA

Association of Authorized Land Surveyors Malaysia (PEJUTA) is a professional association established under the Registrar of Societies in 1976. Its members comprise of surveyors registered under the Licensed Land Surveyors Act 1958 (revised 1991).

PEJUTA has progressed significantly since then, and have contributed much to national development over the years. The Association collaborates with Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), Land Surveyors Board Malaysia (LJT), Institutions of Higher Learning and other government agencies for the advancement of the science and practise of the profession.

PEJUTA’s Vision, "A Dynamic and Agile Community of Surveying and Mapping Professionals" comprises three goals:

  • A cohesive community of professionals with clarity of purpose, direction and accountability, unified in its agreement on strategic initiatives and priorities, armed with an unfailing discipline to follow through;
  • Licensed Land Surveyors who demonstrate increasing ability to anticipate and adapt effectively to the future; and
  • An innovation-driven infrastructure that enhances access to comprehensive information through a wide range of technology and facilities.
