General

The FIG Council may establish Task Forces to research and to advise on matters of an administrative or of a general policy nature. They will normally be of short duration and will be concluded on the presentation and acceptance of their reports by the Council and, where necessary, the General Assembly. Their composition, chairs, terms of reference and work plans shall be approved by the Council. The Task Force reports will normally be delivered to and accepted by the Council and the General Assembly.

The Council has four task forces for the term of office 2011-2014:

The FIG Africa Task Force continues its work during the period 2011-2014 and the Task Force on Spatially Enabled Societies, to the end of 2012.
