Qingdao city is located about 23 miles from the nearest Qingdao International Airport. Qingdao is a beautiful seaside city on the southern coast of the Shandong Peninsula bordering on the Yellow Sea. The city lies on undulating hills with luxuriantly green trees and buildings noted for their attractive architectural styles. The city is well-known for beer and summer resort. Qingdao is also one of China's five major foreign trade ports.

Qingdao is the co-host city of the Olympic Sailing Regatta for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The symposium is planned to be held at a hotel near sea.
