Please notice that the 12th International Symposium on Deformation Measurement planned for China, P. R. has been postponed to 2006. The 12th ISDM will be held in Baden, Austria 29-31 May 2006 jointly with the 3rd IAG Symposium on Geodesy for Geotechnical and Structural Engineering.

You are cordially invited to the 12th International Symposium on Deformation Measurements organized by Commission 6 of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) to be held in Qingdao, China, 12-15 September 2005. The symposium will be hosted by Shandong University of Science and Technology in cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping, Shandong Provincial Department of Land & Resources, and Qingdao Geotechnical and Surveying Research Institute.

In the past 20 years with the great development of Chinese economy, a Phenomenal leap-forward in surveying technology has been seen in China . The Chinese surveying field is actively cooperating with professional surveyors all over the world. In the conference program there will be 8 technical sessions and some poster sessions. The symposium will offer an excellent platform to exchange experience in deformation measurements and demonstrate latest technologies.

Qingdao is famous for summer resort and beer. It will also host the sailing events of 2008 Olympic Games, and you will feel the vigor and enthusiasm in the most liveable city in China.
