We are looking forward to welcoming you to Accra, Ghana, and this year's FIG Working Week. We want to provide you with some additional information and remind you to contact us if you need any assistance as you make your final preparations for Working Week 2024!

The Conference runs from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 May.

In conjunction with the Conference the FIG General Assembly takes place:

• Sunday, 19 May in Plenary Dome at the tent village at La Palm
• Thursday 23 May in Adae Kasie at La Palm

ON ARRIVAL INTO KOTOKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

During the conference, attendees arriving at Kotoka International Airport can avail themselves of our shuttlebus service to the following hotels:

Our dedicated staff will be stationed at the airport to assist you in locating the shuttlebus pick-up point. To ease the planning, we kindly request that you send your flight information in advance to Cedi Travels at bookings.cedi@gmail.com. This will help us ensure prompt and efficient transportation upon your arrival.

SHUTTLEBUS SERVICE

Shuttle bus service during FIG Working Week is provided from most conference hotels to the conference venue and evening function venues.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Name badge collection
All attendees are required to collect a badge. For quick registration on site please bring this letter with you. To speed up the registration we will use your ORDER ID.

The FIG Registration desk is located on the ground floor at La Palm Conference.

Opening hours: Saturday 18 May 8:00 –17:00, Sunday 19 May 8:00–21:00, Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 May 7:30–18:00, and Thursday 23 May 8:00–12:00.

Unpaid fees
Please be prepared to wait for name badge and conference bag collection should you be required to pay any money on site. We strongly recommend you arrange full payment in advance of your arrival and bring proof of payment. If you have unpaid fee please look for the "Unpaid" counter.

WELCOME RECEPTION - Akwaaba Night

Time: 19:00–21:00
Location: Pool side at La Palm
Offering: Two Welcome drinks (tickets on your badge), snacks, as well as welcome addresses (around 19:30) by the organizers and partners.

TECHNICAL PROGRAMME

Located in 7 session rooms, the 3-day technical programme offers a packed and interesting conference programme. Altogether FIG Working Week will gather more than 250 highly qualified national and international speakers from all disciplines within the surveying, geospatial, natural and built environment professions.
Each day at the plenary sessions invited international recognized experts will deal with topics within the overall theme of the conference "Geospatial information for a smarter life and environmental resilience".

GOOD TO KNOW WHEN VISITING GHANA

Yellow Fever Certificate:

• Ensure you carry a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, as it is required for entry into Ghana.

Malaria Prophylaxis:

• Ghana is a malaria-endemic area. Please consult your doctor and obtain malaria prophylaxis before your trip.

Electrical Plugs:

• Ghana uses Type D and G electrical plugs (230V, 50Hz). Remember to bring the appropriate adapter for your devices.

Currency:

• The local currency is the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS). Credit cards are widely accepted in major hotels and restaurants, but it is advisable to carry some cash for smaller establishments and markets.

Weather:

• May is part of the rainy season in Ghana. Pack lightweight, breathable clothing along with a raincoat or umbrella.

Local Etiquette:

• Ghanaians are known for their hospitality. A handshake is a common form of greeting. Respect local customs and traditions.
