Visa

Visa Requirements

To travel to Bulgaria, a delegate may require an entry visa. In case a visa is needed, the applicant may visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website at  http://www.mfa.bg/en/pages/109/index.html and access the visa request page to fill in the form corresponding to his/her visa application after consulting the following links:

Ordinary passport

Diplomatic and service passport

We would like to advice that visas will only be issued by the Bulgarian diplomatic and consular representations. No visas can be issued upon arrival in Bulgaria. The participants who are citizens of countries requiring visas should submit a filled application form, passport photo, medical insurance and regular travel document with at least six months validity. The participants should also present a letter-invitation from the Bulgarian host organization and other documents if needed. Detailed information about the Bulgarian diplomatic and consular representations is accessible at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
It is recommended that visas be requested in advance, in order to allow their processing in time.

Since 1 January 2007 the Republic of Bulgaria has been applying the European Union's Common Visa Policy, subject to the terms of the Accession Treaty. Currently Bulgaria issues national visas only. Those visas do not give their holders the right to enter the Schengen area.

Visa Application

To apply for a VISA you will need to submit an Invitation Letter to the Embassy. You can receive Invitation Letter from the Conference Organizers that will confirm that you are a participant in the conference. To obtain an Invitation Letter you have to send a copy of your passport via e-mail to kamara@kig-bg.org. On the copy, your full name, date of birth, date of expiry and the passport number should be clearly visible.

You can receive an Invitation Letter once you have successfully completed your registration and paid your registration fee.

Keep in mind that you should apply for a VISA no later than 1 month prior to the conference, as it takes time for VISA issuing. You may also be invited to an interview.

More information about visa application is available at http://www.mfa.bg/en/pages/109/index.html. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Bulgarian Embassy in your country.

In case of VISA refusal, the registration fee will be refunded in accordance with the cancellation policy. Bank charges will not be refunded.
