Xian, China P. R. 16-20 October, 2005
General
Symposium will be held in Xian, China P. R., a city close to Beijing the
capital city. There are many daily flights from Beijing to Xian. There are a
lot of historic and scenic spots in this old city of China. Xian is
especially well known as the home of the clay soldiers and has been capital
city for many kings in the past.
Dates
Registration onsite is on 16th October 2005 at the conference hotel in
Xian, paper presentations are on 17 and 18 October 2005, study tour and
excursions will be organized for the afternoon of 18, full day of 19 and
morning of 20 October. The Symposium ends in the afternoon of 20 whilst the
conference closing ceremony is early afternoon of 18 October.
Registration fees
Registration fee for the symposium is US dollars 150, which includes
registration, materials for conference and tea breaks. For students, there
is a 50 % discount in the registration fee.

Accommodation
Hotel accommodation for the 4 days, that is nights of 16, 17, 18 and 19
October, it price will be US dollars 50 per night with breakfast included.
For meals of lunches and dinners for 16, 17 and 18 the total costs would
be US dollars 60, and for the tours for 18 pm to 20 am the costs would be US
dollars 60, which includes entrance fees, transportation and two lunches.
So the total costs for staying for the whole event, from 16 am to 20am
would be US dollars 150 registration plus 200 for hotels plus 60 for meals
plus 60 for tours making a total of US dollars 470. In addition to this you
should count the individuals air flight arrangements to and out of Xian,
China P.R.
Papers
Concerning papers there is big interest in Mainland China, there are over
50 papers already arrived, and HKIS in Hong Kong is working hard to get more
papers. International papers at the moment include several papers from FIG
Commission 9.
