Employment History
- Early 1980s
I undertook part of my valuation cadetship at Jones Lang Wootton, now
known as Jones Lang LaSalle’s in the City of Melbourne office. This was
followed by a six month period as assistant valuer on the Queensland Gold
Coast.
- March 1983
Joined the Victoria Government Public Service and commenced work in
the property section. My main functions were the negotiation for
purchasing of properties and leasing of office accommodation on behalf the
number of Government Agencies for both the CBD and regional Victoria.
I then moved to the State Insurance Office (SIO), as a Property Manager
for major commercial properties.
- June 1984
I joined the Office of the Valuer General (OVG). I progressed through the
ranks of the Valuer General’s Office, currently hold a position of Manager,
Client Valuations.
My major achievements within the now know Valuer-General Victoria (VGV)
include major office accommodation assessments, many in excess of 10,000
square metres, significant valuation assessments, including Docklands
Development, CityLink, new suburbs of Aurora, ADFA Project, Commonwealth
Games 2006 on behalf on Agencies which include Department of Treasury &
Finance, VicUrban and Premier & Cabinet.
I also instrumental in the establishment of the procurement of valuations
from the private sector on behalf of VGV and lead the establishment of the
Panel arrangements which commenced at VGV in 1996.
Conference Participation
Since the early 90s I have provided lecture papers/conference papers to
major seminar in both Australia and overseas. This has provided me with a
profile of international reputation for quality, integrity and hard work.
Professional Memberships
- member of both the Australian Property Institute and Victorian
Division of Institution of Surveyors Australia Inc.
- Chair of Working Group 9.2, Commission 9, FIG.
- Since 2005 Chair Elect of FIG Commission 8 (2005-2006) and Chair
2006-2010.
