Follow-Up Questionnaire on the Issues of Cadastre 2014

Dear Delegates and Correspondents to FIG Commission 7,

At the FIG congress in Brighton, England in July 1998, the booklet "Cadastre 2014" has been published as a result of the work done by the working group 7.1 over the four preceding years. The working group looked at the developments in the field of cadastral systems and developed visions by looking 20 years ahead. This has been done by formulating 6 statements and conclusions with recommendations. The booklet "Cadastre 2014" has since been translated into 17 languages, and can be accessed on the Internet at http://www.swisstopo.ch/fig-wg71/

For the period 1998-2002, the FIG-Commission 7 has mandated a further working group with the mission to look at the topic "Reforming the Cadastre". This working group now is very much interested in looking at the developments regarding the statements in "Cadastre 2014", and decided during its last annual meeting in Hamburg, Germany in May 2000 to follow-up on the developments regarding the 6 statements of "Cadastre 2014".

For this purpose, a follow-up questionnaire has been designed which has 3 specific objectives:

1) To compile on-going "Cadastre 2014"-related issues and activities.
2) To know the status of cadastral systems in relevance to "Cadastre 2014" statements.
3) To identify other developments in Cadastre that go beyond Cadastre 2014.

This follow-up questionnaire is now being sent out to members of FIG-Commission 7, to former working group members, and to other potentially interested persons involved in cadastral activities.

In this context, we kindly would like to ask you to fill out the questionnaire. If you feel that there are better-suited persons in your country to respond, please pass the questionnaire on to them.

We kindly ask you to send the questionnaire back before the end of September 2000. All the results will afterwards be compiled and made available to you. For that reason, we would like to ask you to formulate your answers as short as possible. The questionnaire is available also in digital format at http://www.swisstopo.ch/fig-wg71/cad2014/fupquest.htm. Please send your responses back to:
