News from Commission 1 - Annual Meeting 2000 in Prague
FIG hosted its Annual Working Week 2000 in Prague, The Czech Republic,
from May 22nd – May 26th.
Commission 1 was responsible for two technical sessions in the
technical programme. In addition Commission hosted its annual meeting
and had several other meetings within Commission and jointly with other
FIG Commissions. The theme of this Millennium year's Working Week was
"Quo Vadis Surveying in the 21st Century".
Commission 1 focused on the topics related to quality assurance and on
the multidisciplinary nature of the surveying profession. Commission
1 papers from the Working Week 2000 and the Technical Conference Quo
Vadis are available on the FIG web site. Commission 1 was coordinating
sessions
Quality Assurance in Surveyor's Profession, chaired by Klaus Rürup (Germany),
Vice Chair of Commission 1, and
Multidisciplinary Nature of Surveying, chaired by Prof John
Parker (Australia), Chair of Commission 1. Commission 1 papers presented

Commission 1 Annual Report presented by Prof. John Parker, Chair of
the Commission, to the General Assembly is attached to the agenda papers
